Reading these numbers. Wins above replacement are the wins a player adds over a replacement-level player in his minutes, where replacement level sits at −1.77 RAPM (a roster of them wins about 8 games) — a great season reads around 20, not around 10 as in public WAR. Market value is what an unconstrained market would pay for that production at that season's cap, which for the very best players exceeds what any contract is permitted to pay them. That gap is the point, and the method page explains it.
